And if they’re singing, then that increases the risk as well.” Airborne transmission Whilst scientists agree that you can easily catch coronavirus from larger cough droplets exchanged at close range with an infected person, a far more controversial question is whether you can catch the virus from tiny, airborne particles, known as aerosols. The key point about aerosols is that they float about in the air for hours, meaning you could theoretically catch the virus despite having no contact with an infected person if you walk into a train carriage where an infected person was standing several hours ago, for example. The bacterium that causes tuberculosis and the viruses that cause measles and chickenpox are all commonly spread through aerosols.

She was a very hard working doctor nothing was too much trouble for her patients.”Away from work, Anna had a passion for going to the gym, especially swimming.”She liked nothing more than catching up with friends and organising events, especially for her fellow SPRs [specialist registrars] to get together and relax after a busy week at work.”Anna’s other passion was to travel and see new places and she often used her annual leave to go somewhere exciting.”Colleagues say they have lost a compassionate and caring and loving friend and doctor.”Dr Lewis’ family have asked for privacy, but say that if you do want to pay tribute on social media, do so by sharing positive memories of her.Numerous tributes have been paid to Dr Lewis on the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust Facebook page.Those posting described Dr Lewis as “a lovely, gentle person” and “a heroic Med SpR (specialist registrar receiving advanced training) and example to us all”.One touching tribute reads: “I just want to say what a well respected doctor Anna was.
