Security researchers at McAfee, a computer security company, released a paper showing how modern facial recognition systems can be easily bypassed by exploiting weaknesses in machine learning algorithms. The process used in the research confuses the system to think it’s seeing a completely different person, thereby, fooling the system. The researchers had been studying up extensively on state of the art machine learning algorithms and also worked closely with McAfee’s Advanced Analytics team to develop an approach that can defeat facial recognition systems..
